Dear Parents,
Last week we concluded (and took a test) on the introduction to our course which discussed the concept of Shabbat and the purpose of such a day. We looked at the uniquness of Shabbat from different angles and showed its importance within the realm of Judaism.
This week, we begin our learning about what is prohibited on Shabbat and what is not?
-Can I strike a match?
-Lift a couch up 5 flights of steps?
-How about cross a large street with nothing but a paperclip in my pocket?
Are any of these more severe than the other? Stay tuned as we uncover the true definition of "Melacha."
